Privacy
What this site records, what it does not, and how to get anything about you removed. Written to be read rather than to satisfy a lawyer, and short enough that reading it is realistic.
The Metanoia Project is the data controller. We are based in Tipperary, Ireland, and the GDPR applies to everything below. Write to hello@metanoiaproject.ie about any of it.
Visits
We count visits with Plausible, which is privacy-focused analytics that uses no cookies and does not identify anybody. It records the page, the referrer, the country, and whether the device is a phone or a computer. It does not record your IP address, does not follow you to other sites, and does not build a profile of you.
We run it proxied through this domain so that ad blockers do not strip it, which means the request goes to metanoiaproject.ie before it goes to Plausible. That is the only reason.
If you would rather not be counted: do not count my visits. It sets a flag in your own browser and nothing else.
Email addresses
If you leave an address — on a waitlist, the newsletter, or as a member — we hold it to send you what you asked for, and for nothing else.
- We do not sell, rent or share lists. There is no exception to that.
- Every email has an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately.
- Ask us to delete your address and we delete it, without asking why.
Addresses are held in Ghost, which runs our membership, and email is sent through it.
Money
Payments are handled by Stripe. The Project never sees or stores a card number. We see that a payment was made, the amount, and the name and address you gave Stripe if you gave one.
What we do not do
- No advertising, and no ad networks
- No cookies for tracking. If a cookie is set, it is because you signed in
- No social media pixels, no Meta, no Google tag
- No selling or sharing of anything about you
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to our holding it at all. Write to hello@metanoiaproject.ie and we will do it within a month, usually the same week.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
Accounts of experience
The Project collects first-person accounts through Not Myself, which is a separate site with its own consent process and its own privacy notice. Nothing you send there is governed by this page, and nothing on this site is shared with it.
This page will be updated when what we do changes, and the date below will change with it. Nothing here is retrospective: if we ever intend to use something differently, we will ask first.
